Chief Operating Officer

Location: Remote with frequent travel, particularly to sites in the Midwest, Northeast, and East Coast

Salary: Starting at $250,000 base salary, with flexibility based on experience

The company is recognized as a leading solar PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) installer in the USA. To achieve their ambitious goals, they are seeking a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the day-to-day operations and drive the business towards its full potential.

Position Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) with extensive experience in Solar PV and BESS construction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scaling EPC businesses and a deep understanding of the processes and structures necessary to build a successful company. The COO will work closely with the founding CEO, who has achieved great success but recognizes the need for additional expertise to grow the business further. This role requires a visionary leader with a keen sense of market trends, opportunities, and potential pitfalls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
• Develop and implement strategies for scaling the business, transitioning from medium-scale to mega projects.
• Align organizational goals with business development objectives to drive growth.
• Manage and mentor directors and VP-level colleagues, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team.
• Oversee the hiring of W2 workers and the selection of subcontractors and vendors.
• Lead PR and marketing efforts to enhance the company’s brand and market presence.
• Ensure overall responsibility and accountability for the growth and success of the business.
• Identify and capitalize on market trends and opportunities while mitigating potential risks.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, business meetings with owners and developers, and other key events.
• Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to drive the overall business strategy and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA .
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior operational leadership role within the Solar PV and BESS construction industry.
• Proven experience in scaling EPC businesses and managing large-scale projects.
• Strong network of contacts within the renewable energy sector.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently to sites, industry conferences, and business meetings across the country.
