As a manager within EnergyHub’s Utility Sales team, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving this vision forward. We’re seeking a dynamic individual with a strong commitment to a clean energy future and a skillset encompassing technical writing, project management, and communication.

As EnergyHub’s Proposal Manager, you will be a trusted subject matter expert on the coordination of our Sales proposals. In this role, you will have an opportunity to merge technical proficiency with business acumen to craft compelling proposals. Our proposals will revolve EnergyHub’s product offerings, including Electric Vehicle (EV) charging, smart thermostats, batteries, and other connected devices, with the aim of delivering tangible value to our utility clients.

This role offers a unique opportunity to orchestrate EnergyHub Sales’ proposal process from inception to completion, rallying input from diverse teams across EnergyHub. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll curate persuasive proposal material, blending original content with delegated contributions to weave a coherent narrative that showcases EnergyHub’s value proposition. You will also have the opportunity to manager and make efficiencies as the team navigates complex utility RFPs, ensures seamless project management on proposals and aligns with EnergyHub’s overall organizational objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire proposal process, orchestrating input from cross-functional teams, crafting content, and monitoring progress from initial RFP review to final submission
  • Develop compelling proposal material through a blend of original writing and delegated content development, synthesizing disparate elements into a cohesive narrative
  • Champion EnergyHub’s value proposition through adept technical writing, evangelizing our solutions to clients and prospects
  • Lead collaboration with the wider Sales team to grasp utility needs and requirements, tailoring proposals accordingly
  • Facilitate and lead proposal kickoff meetings, steering the team towards successful outcomes
  • Manage the proposal review process, securing necessary approvals and leading responses to follow-up inquiries
  • Cultivate expertise in the utility market and DER landscape, contributing to a library of relevant proposal-related content and templates
  • Forge strong partnerships with EnergyHub’s product and marketing teams to ensure alignment in messaging and strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in proposal management, technical writing, consulting, or related fields
  • Expert-level skills in writing and coordinator Sales proposals for a Climate Tech or SaaS company
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing, coupled with exceptional communication and project management skills
  • Proven experience in developing persuasive business cases, with a keen interest in the energy industry and emerging technologies
  • Previous exposure to demand side management or related areas within the energy sector is advantageous

The salary range of this opportunity is listed below and is determined within a range based on factors including qualifications, location and experience. This allows opportunity for growth and development within the role. The salary offered is part of a total compensation package.

Pay Range

$90,000—$110,000 USD
