Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Business Analyst with a strong background in the PJM market to join the Asset Management team. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of the PJM market operations, regulations, and market strategies. They will be responsible for analyzing market trends, evaluating business opportunities, especially, in solar PV and energy storage, and providing strategic recommendations to support our growing renewable portfolio in the PJM territory.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Optimization Analysis

  • Analyze solar sites’ economics, including costs, revenues, and profitability in the context of PJM market conditions, and assist in finding method to optimize revenues.
  • Work with the O&M team to optimize maintenance activities to minimize lost revenue.
  • Maintain and manage databases related to market data, project performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and update period reports and dashboard (daily, weekly, monthly) highlighting sites’ performance.

Management of Power Purchase Agreements

  • Manage deliverables for the Company’s current commercial agreements, especially, PPAs (power purchase agreements) and hedging agreements.
  • Work with the Finance Team and O&M Team to obtain required information, manage relationship with PPA counterparties and inform management of issues arising under those agreements.
  • Streamline the implementation of upcoming PPAs; work directly with PPA counterparties and internal teams to ensure smooth implementation.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with PJM and FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) market rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the energy sector, with a focus on the PJM market.
  • Strong understanding of PJM market operations, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
  • Proven experience in market analysis, financial modeling, and business strategy development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with renewable energy projects, with focus on solar PV and BESS.
  • Familiarity with energy trading and risk management practices.
