Job Description

As the Senior Manager, Test Facility you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a technical team, and ensuring the facility meets industry standards for solar power component testing. You will be involved in strategic planning, budget management, and the development of training programs to enhance staff skills. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, optimization of testing procedures, and maintain quality control.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the test facility, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for facility operations, including resource allocation and capacity planning.
  • Establish and manage budgets for the test facility, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Coordinate with senior management to align facility goals with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards in all testing processes.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and upgrade of testing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize testing procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Plan, coordinate, and contribute to the design of design testing required. Including defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure reliable and valid test results.
  • Review and analyze test data, generating reports and providing actionable insights.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to testing accuracy or facility operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards which may be used in the formal certification of the facility.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of test processes, results, and facility procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on facility performance and test outcomes.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to understand testing needs and requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to clients, addressing any queries or concerns related to testing services.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Proven track record managing similar facilities and technical resources
  • Technical understand of mechanical engineering, materials sciences and design of experiments to be a key contributor to test designs and the monitoring and understanding of 3rd party testing and test results.
