Edged is seeking a seasoned Power and Utilities professional to manage all aspects of power for our growing data center portfolio. This role encompasses; Power Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute power procurement strategies for new site development and optimize existing utility services. Contract Management: Lead negotiations and amendments of power contracts, ensuring compliance and alignment with construction schedules. Performance Analysis: Monitor utility capacity performance and track financial and operational efficiency of utility services. Collaboration: Work closely with investment, construction, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • this role, you will be a key contributor to EDC data center energy strategy, specifically supporting the energy infrastructure arrangements of our data centers through various stages of development including site selection, construction and operations.
  • responsibilities will include: supporting the development of energy supply agreements, monitoring progress towards key development milestones, developing processes and building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external partners.
  • energy procurement strategies based on rate forecasting, market analysis and customer growth patterns.
  • as the owner of all current and future utility contracts.
  • in negotiating contracts for transmission, energy supply and distribution.
  • progress and timelines associated with substation build and capacity delivery.
  • tariffs in regulated and deregulated markets.
  • on tracking and procuring renewable energy credits to reduce carbon footprint.
  • the negotiation of renewable energy procurement in regulated and deregulated markets.
  • and track documents and data related to utility contracts including renewable energy.
  • with design teams to optimize site design for power infrastructure and delivery
  • utility payment program for the sites, support with any billing issues, and track invoices, costs and performance is in line with the contract terms and conditions.
  • and create an energy trading program.
  • closely with Sales, Design, Construction and Operations to provide energy and sustainability efforts that impact all areas of the organization.
  • Energy usage/demand based on negotiated contracts.
  • evaluation of new solutions and technologies.
  • to travel through North America, as needed

Education / Experience

  • degree in a relevant field (e.g. Energy or Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration and or paralegal studies).
  • years’ experience in utility management dealing with an IPP, electrical utility, energy supplier or owner operator or experience in energy trading.
  • knowledge of transmission, distribution and utility interconnection processes and electrical infrastructure
  • of utility regulations, industry standards and best practices.
  • analyzing energy data, tariffs (including green tariffs), and wholesale utility market data.
  • leadership and organizational skills.
  • developing standards and procedures.
