The Sr Offshore O&M Engineer is supporting the development of the operations and maintenance (O&M) strategy for the JV portfolio. The project operations and maintenance will include onshore and offshore assets including wind turbines, substructures, offshore substations, sub-sea cable, onshore cables, and onshore substation. The Sr Engineer will support other O&M Engineers on the team, reporting to the O&M Manager within ASOW and to the Sr Director Offshore Asset Optimization within EDF-R.
The US offshore wind competitive landscape is developing rapidly and will require a fresh look on project design, execution, and operations & maintenance (O&M) – both technical and commercial. During early development the focus will be to influence design of the windfarm to improve future operability; to support the technical leads of various packages in setting strategies and defining scopes of work related to O&M; and negotiating contracts with suppliers for O&M scope to reduce costs, improve reliability, and maximize benefits to local stakeholders.
During the front-end delivery (prior to offtake award), the Sr Offshore O&M Engineer will be providing support on:
- OPEX and availability modelling; including providing coaching and mentorship to other O&M engineers
- Evaluation, comparison, and selection of technologies, vessels, ports, and O&M methods to develop a technical and delivery strategy for the portfolio
- Liaising with the valuation and finance teams to ensure
- Supporting the development team with definition of different O&M approaches and providing input to the project design envelope for COP submittal
- Supporting the commercial team with subcontractor qualification and selection, cost definition and local content evaluation resulting in successful bids
- Identifying risks and mitigations within the package and across interfaces
- Understanding the interaction between development, permitting, commercial, engineering, and delivery
- Developing, drafting figures and tables, and writing the O&M narrative of proposals submitted in response to renewable power purchase solicitations
After offtake award, the Sr Engineer will be helping to:
- re-evaluate, analyze, and validate timelines, costs (Opex), and opportunities for the delivery and startup of O&M activities for the Project(s);
- improve Project economics and maximize benefits to State and ratepayers via creative approaches to delivering on bid commitments related to O&M;
- contribute to the definition and issuance of RFPs/RFIs/RFBOs for vendors and suppliers;
- prepare materials for and engage with lenders’ technical authorities leading up to Final Investment Decision (FID)
- identify opportunities and risks within the package and across interfaces from offtake to commercial operation date (COD); and
- understand and develop an implementation strategy to comply with applicable laws regarding O&M of offshore wind power plants, interfacing with Legal, Commercial, and Finance teams.

- Perform OPEX modelling; coach other O&M engineers in this space
- Developing the O&M strategy considering technical, economic and environmental parameters
- Model various logistics configuration
- Coordinating with the package leads to establish key inputs for the O&M model
- Providing input to the development and maintenance of forecast OPEX budgets
- Mentorship of Jr O&M Engineer(s)

Work is performed in an office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably civil, mechanical or electrical engineering
- 5+ year of experience in Offshore Energy projects
- 1+ year experience in Offshore Wind

Physical Requirements
Ability to travel upon request to an Atlantic Shores or parent office for 3-5 days at a time.
This role’s annual base salary range is between $115,500 and $192,000.
