This position is in the Environmental Licensing & Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting new development and M&A opportunities for NextEra Energy Transmission and other NextEra Energy a?liates throughout the US.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who has a passion for environmental due diligence and licensing and permitting of electric transmission projects. The applicant must have relevant environmental siting, routing, permitting, and project management experience, with the ability to lead, with limited direction, environmental functions for new corporate transmission development opportunities and acquisitions. The position provides the opportunity to use your environmental knowledge and skills to support competitive proposals, acquire permits, complete risk assessments, conduct due diligence, and advise multidisciplinary teams on environmental risk and permitting strategies.
Primary responsibilities include working closely with development teams and external consultants to help prepare competitive proposals, and for awarded projects, to obtain all required federal, state, and local environmental licenses, permits, and approvals for construction.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience with California Public Utilities Commission Proponent’s Environmental Assessments and California Environmental Quality Act compliance and federal right-of-way acquisition and National Environmental Quality Act compliance. Candidates must demonstrate expert knowledge of and experience with aquatic, biological, and cultural surveys and studies; federal, state, and local permitting; risk assessments; due diligence; and agency coordination, such as coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other federal, state, and local permitting agencies.
The job location is San Francisco, California. However, remote, regionally appropriate home-based locations or other NextEra office locations may be negotiated. Routine travel (up to 20%) may be required.

The base pay for this position is $120,000.00 to $180,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
