Salary: $32 – $36 per hour

We are a leader in the Renewable Energy (Solar) industry. We are seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our growing team.

This is a 100% travel opportunity, offers per diem while working on our project sites. Site states include but are not limited to: North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and South Carolina.

Job Description:

The Commissioning Specialist provides support to the Commissioning Superintendent to manage the project commissioning activities. This position can serve as a lead role for the respective commissioning discipline, responsible for project commissioning practices and project schedule compliance.

Job Details

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field of study and 4 years of work-related experience OR a combination of education and directly related experience equal to 8 years if non-degreed.
  • 5 years of commissioning experience in utility scale solar projects.
  • Clear understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off shift hours and weekends.
  • NABCEP Certification or equivalent education.
  • OSHA 30 or 100.
  • Advanced Racking and Tracker commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, manufacturer training and/or certification.
  • Advanced Inverter commissioning, operation, communications, troubleshooting, manufacturer training and/or certification.
  • Advanced DAS systems, communication systems, operations, programming, manufacturer training and/or certification.
  • Good knowledge of MV Transformers and other Renewable Energy Balance of System (BOS)Advanced Construction, structural, electrical single-line and three-line drawings markups and red-lines, RFIs.
  • Good knowledge of Utility and Interconnection (Substation and POI) Equipment.
  • Electrical License and/or Equivalent education.
  • Current and valid driver’s license required.

Nice to Haves:

  • Transmission scale solar experience preferred.
  • Experience working with solar tracker systems.
  • High Voltage Certification.
  • Low Voltage Certification.
  • Subcontractor and vendor management.
  • NABCEP PV Associate Certification.
  • NFPA 70e.
  • OSHA 30.
