Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join their team REMOTELY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, with a focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems for EV charging infrastructure and energy storage systems. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Develop, design and implement automation systems for ESS and EV Charging Stations.
  • Maintain and create comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including wiring diagrams, control strategies, and software architecture.

System Integration:

  • Integrate automation systems with other components such as power electronics, battery management systems (BMS), and communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability.

Testing and Validation:

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance, safety, and reliability of automation systems.
  • Analyze test results and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.

Optimization and Maintenance:

  • Continuously monitor and optimize automation systems to enhance performance and energy efficiency.
  • Implement preventive maintenance strategies and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage automation projects from conception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure that automation systems comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in the EV charging or energy storage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Proficiency in software development languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java.
  • Familiarity with power electronics, battery management systems, and renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
