One Research Assistant is sought to support a research study of young adults enrolled in a community-based diversion program. This is a 6-month position, renewable subject to performance and need.
Essential Functions
Assistance with data collection start-up tasks:
- Participating in the process of pre-testing, revising, and finalizing data collection instruments (e.g., survey questionnaire)
- Creating infrastructure for storing and organizing collected data and associated documentation
- Engaging with community partners and stakeholders
- Recruiting study participants through in-person and virtual
Participating In Data Collection Activities:
- Scheduling, organizing, and attending site visits to distribute survey
- Managing collected data in organizational system
Various Fieldwork Support Tasks:
- Distributing participant incentives and associated record keeping
- Data entry, as needed
- Tracking progress towards recruitment targets
- Maintaining communication with community partners and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a related discipline.
- Minimum of a year of experience.
- Robust organizational and communication skills to manage data collection efforts, including data entry and management and recruitment communications with diverse audiences (participants and stakeholders)
- Quantitative data analysis skills, such as descriptive statistics analyses.
- Experience with primary data collection, particularly with young adult populations, is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications
- Training or direct experience with quantitative data collection
- Comfort with conducting engaged research with young adults, members of vulnerable populations, and in conjunction with community-based organizations
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- Effective communicator

Additional Information
This is a Part Time Temporary position classified as Non Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
