Job Summary

  • The position will be filled commensurate with the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education at either the Operations Analyst I or II in accordance with business needs and priorities.

Operations Analyst I:
Gathers and analyzes customer calls and various computer data to determine location and cause of power outages. Efficiently dispatches first response personnel and repair crews to provide quick and logical response to outages and emergency situations. Performs callouts in ARCOS for service restoration, emergencies, planned overtime, and fill-shifts. Duties may extend to maintaining accurate information and movement in Crew Manager. Performs as Local Storm Analyst and maintains an ability to travel to impacted offices. Accurately manages Estimated Restoration Times to customers. Provides accurate and timely information to customers and first line resolution to customer complaints. Duties may extend to direct customer correspondence. Prioritizes, schedules, and manages non-emergency preventative maintenance and customer-requested work in a timely and cost-effective manner. Duties may extend to full creation, set up, packaging, permitting, joint-use interaction, as-builting and reconciling discrepancies for ARM and trouble work. Recognizes the financial impact of gathering and maintaining accurate information in all systems. Financial responsibility may extend to monthly budget reviews, financial report analysis, evidence collection and submission of cross-charge requests where applicable. Prioritizes, dispatches and manages streetlight work. Duties may extend to full set-up, packaging, permit work, as-builting, reconciliation, billing interaction, GIS editing and job closing.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Operations Analyst II:
Has complete knowledge and is proficient in all Systems and Applications used by Operations Analyst I. Gathers and analyzes customer calls and various computer data to determine location and cause of power outages. Able to perform as Local Storm Analyst. This position must travel for storm restoration purposes. Efficiently dispatches first response personnel and repair crews to provide quick and logical response to outages and emergency situations. Schedules and manages other non-emergency customer requested work in a timely and cost- effective manner to ensure superior customer service.

Provides accurate and timely information to customers and first line resolution to customer complaints. Accurately reports outages to customers’ accounts. Uses knowledge to approve complex SROL reports. Accurately manages Estimated Restoration Times to customers. Maintains scheduling, reporting and follow up of the Local Office. Provides timely and accurate data for continual Service Reliability improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Operations Analyst I:
  • 2+ years of demonstrated related experience with preferred level of education (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications)
  • Basic knowledge of distribution and transmission systems
  • Ability to learn job-specific computer applications
  • Ability to handle constantly changing and emerging priorities
  • Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skills: Interpersonal, verbal and written communications, customer service, analytical thinking, good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications such as Microsoft Office and other Windows based applications.
  • Problem resolution
  • Demonstrated sound analysis skills.
Operations Analyst II:
  • 5+ years of experience with an Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of a preferred level of education.
  • Successful completion of the OATP Development Program and associated testing.
  • Full knowledge of distribution and transmission systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using job-specific computer applications.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Good computer skills and demonstrated proficiency working in using various software applications such as GIS, Mainframe Applications, TRS, TRSi, -Optimizer, Risk Master & Street Light Outage System, NJUNS and ARCOS.
  • Microsoft Office and other Windows-based applications.
  • Problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to handle constantly changing and emerging priorities.
  • Demonstrated sound analysis skills.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: High school or GED required.
