Job Summary

Provides twenty-four hour service to customers in specific service area, including service restoration, distribution, transmission and substation switching, line maintenance and troubleshooting overhead and underground distribution lines. On call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Provides supervision of crews while restoring electrical service in assigned area. Responsible for street light repair, replacement and installation. Responsible for meter reading, meter orders (connects/disconnects), investigating voltage complaints and setting recording volt meters to analyze the problem. Represents company at civic associations and community organizations.

This role also plays a critical role in the operations, maintenance, system functionality of the below technologies:

  • Generation Stations
  • Photovoltaic Inverters
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
  • Grid 20/20 Monitoring Systems
  • Infrared Thermography (IRT)
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

7+ years directly related experience. Graduate of Lineman Development Program or Accredited Lineman Certification. Full knowledge of line construction and maintenance, electrical theory, electrical and safety codes and regulations. Basic knowledge of distribution, transmission and substation switching. Effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, ability to operate heavy equipment and electrical test equipment, ability to climb poles and work aloft. Other abilities: analytical thinking, working independently and safely, problem solving, demonstrated critical decision making under pressure, Physical attributes required to perform essential functions: lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, prolonged standing, manual dexterity, color vision and hearing.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of required level of education: High School or GED

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Required: Graduate of Lineman Development Program or Accredited Lineman Certification, Commercial Driver’s License
