Job Description

Position Purpose
Serves as an analyst for Facilities Operations and Management utilizing the campus energy data and other associated data to perform analyses primarily focused on Dartmouths decarbonization efforts and energy and other utility usage. This includes analytical and reporting work related to measurement and verification (M&V), reporting on the energy performance of new construction and major renovation projects such as information needed related to LEED certification, utility billing, greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to using data from our CEMS (Campus Energy Management System) the work involves gathering data from third parties such as Dartmouths electric, gas, oil, and water/sewer utility providers. In addition to information being used for operational and financial purposes, the information can be used in communications to publicize our programs. Provides data for various reporting purposes while reviewing data for any abnormalities.
Works collaboratively and effectively with members of Dartmouths Campus Services Division to accomplish these tasks. Supports Dartmouths commitment to meeting our Greenhouse Gas Reduction goals by improving the efficiency of campus energy systems.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or Environmental Science or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying analytics with a deep curiosity to ask questions and develop solutions.
  • Knowledge of statistics and data analysis and experience with statistical and data analysis software.
  • Experience in reporting methods, with a demonstrated ability to tailor presentations to wide constituent base.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, leadership and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think, plan, and act with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active LEED BD+C AP certification
  • Experience with analytical computing and database environments (Excel, Skyspark, MS SQL, Oracle, FileMaker, etc.).
  • Experience coding in Python and utilizing Graph QL and REST APIs to extract data for energy analyses
  • Familiarity with website design, maintenance, and content management.
  • Knowledge of building energy systems and design including HVAC and lighting operations.
  • Experience modeling in common whole building energy modeling softwares such as eQuest, Trane Trace, EnergyPlus, etc.

Description
Integrated Automation Program Support
  • Analyzes data and produces draft annual utility consumption forecasts both short and long term, along with periodic updates to estimate campus energy use. Presents data to Campus Services financial, operational, and engineering teams for review and action.
  • Analyzes data to flag operating issues and collaborates with internal FOM teams to address issues. Opens WOs as needed to resolve issues.
  • Performs health checks on campus energy management systems data for quality and reliability
  • Assists in uploading monthly utility bill data to Oracle Financial system and cross-checking results prior to financial posting including preparing monthly utility bills for each campus building account (steam, electric, chilled water for approximately 125 buildings).
  • Compiles and performs monthly database updates for campus energy supply, energy production/transformation, and energy use. Reviews data for any anomalies.
  • Provides data and reports from the system to stakeholders in a collaborative manner to support activities such as the following: tracking the results of Dartmouths Decarbonization Program; for use in communications and websites; comparing actual use against energy models for validation of project performance.
  • Develops new reports and dashboards to showcase specific projects, and operational needs.
  • Assists end-users to view energy reports and other data from the system. Provides periodic retraining in the use of the reports and data access via the Campus Energy Management System (CEMS).
  • Completes post-project LEED reporting requirements including Energy, Water, GHGs, and Costs and uploads data to EnergyStar Portfolio Manager.
  • Assists with development, administration, documentation and results of the Integrated Automation Program.
