Senior Electrical Engineer (Energy Storage and Power Systems)
Position Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and testing electrical circuits to support new product developments and enhance existing products in the energy storage product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
– Review and take ownership of customer technical requirements.
– Develop an electrical architecture to satisfy technical requirements within budget, cost, and schedule constraints.
– Design and analyse new circuits or variants, including schematic design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for Power Supplies, Battery Chargers, and Battery Management Circuits.
– Actively participate in product qualification per customer requirements and industry standards (DO-160, MIL_STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461).
– Generate sub-assembly and top-assembly acceptance test procedures (ATP).
– Resolve technical problems with existing products and new designs.
– Perform prototype and qualification unit testing activities.
– Contribute to software development, verification, testing, and documentation (DO-178 is a plus).
– Use simulation software such as MATLAB or PSPICE to simulate design concepts.
– Generate engineering documents such as Test Plans and Test Reports.
– Support integration and system testing of hardware and software.
– Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required), Master’s degree (MSEE preferred).
– 7-10 years of experience in electrical design, particularly of printed circuit boards.
– Expert knowledge of analogue and digital circuits.
– Familiarity with PWM control for AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion.
– Proficiency with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, DMM, DAQ) for testing and troubleshooting.
– Ability to read and interpret schematics.
– Understanding of C/C++ and assembly code for embedded systems is a plus.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
– Follows engineering design processes and can recommend process improvements.
