Job Description
Position Overview
The Manager, Development is responsible for managing the development of projects within Cordelios portfolio, with a primary focus on wind located in MISO and PJM.
Reporting to the Vice President, Development, this role is best suited for a person with a strong track record in wind, solar, and/or storage development looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
This role is available to eligible US based candidates with in-office or remote accommodations.
Responsibilities
Create and execute project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resources.
Manage all aspects of project development, including:
Energy and technical assessments.
Local, state and federal permitting.
Land acquisition and title curative work.
Commercial and technical aspects of project interconnection.
Environmental assessments.
Stakeholder consultation and management.
Off-take origination and power marketing.
Project technical design and infrastructure siting.
Construction contractor selection and contracting.
Equipment procurement and commercial negotiation.
Lead greenfield land campaigns, including organizing and managing land agents, regularly meeting with landowners and local stakeholders, and establishing Cordelios presence in the community.
Oversee development work performed by joint venture and partner developers.
Identify or originate new growth opportunities, including targeted areas for greenfield development.
Perform and lead due diligence review of prospective wind, solar and/or storage development asset acquisitions.
Represent Cordelio at industry associations meetings and events and track relevant industry led policy initiatives;
Support project finance, offtake RFP and permitting submissions, and/or project acquisition efforts.
Skills & Requirements
Strong track record of successful development of US and/or Canada based wind, solar or storage projects in various markets, with a preference for experience in wind and development in MISO and PJM.
Strong personnel management skills with proven ability to work well in teams.
Ability to effectively communicate (by phone, in writing, and in person) with landowners, community organizations, public officials, and other key stakeholders to build project support and represent Cordelio Power. Public speaking experience a plus.
Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines.
Experience managing and interacting with remote and/or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors.
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and time sensitive deadlines.
Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
Valid U.S. drivers license.
