We are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead our efforts in expanding our Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) business. This role is essential for driving growth, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence in the CCS sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, with experience in marketing and business development, specifically in the energy or environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to expand our CCS services. Identify new market opportunities, establish business objectives, and execute strategies to drive growth.
  • Conduct detailed market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs in the CCS space. Utilize this information to inform strategic decisions and identify potential clients and partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industrial facility owners, technology providers, regulatory bodies, and financial partners. Negotiate and structure partnerships that enhance our CCS project portfolio and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to assess project feasibility and develop proposals that meet client needs. Ensure all projects are aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead efforts to promote our CCS solutions to potential clients. Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase awareness and adoption of our CCS services in the industrial sector.
  • Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and ensure the team is aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients. Ensure exceptional customer service and build long-term relationships that foster repeat business and referrals.
  • Monitor and report on business development activities and outcomes. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or related field) is required. An MBA or a Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • At least 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the energy, environmental, or industrial sectors, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Experience specifically in carbon capture and storage or similar environmental technologies is a strong plus.
  • Strong engineering background with a deep understanding of CCS technologies, project development processes, and industry regulations.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote technical services or solutions. Strong understanding of marketing principles, market segmentation, and digital marketing techniques.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
