Overview
The Interconnections Planning Engineer (2L) will perform the following functions:Perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects.Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses.Contribute to analyses identifying local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.Organize developer site visits to Con Edison facilities.Participate in internal engineering support activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers. Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on bulk electric system; Develop recommended modifications to NYISO.

- Core Responsibilities:
- Perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects.
- Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3 years work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 3 years work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
Relevant Work Experience
- Knowledge of the design and /or operation of the electric power system. Required
- Competent in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs. Required
