About CPC Climate Capital:

CPC Climate Capital is a new division within The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and a sub-award partner of Climate United Fund. CPC Climate Capital will support Calvert Impact in the deployment of approximately $2.5 billion in Greenhouse Gas Reduction (GGRF) funds by advancing the CPC Climate Capital Multifamily Decarbonization Strategy nationally. CPC Climate Capital was selected to administer a portion of the awarded GGRF funds on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide subordinate debt financing to owners of multifamily housing nationally to reduce or eliminate on-site fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These climate goals will be simultaneously delivered against other critical national priorities, including the creation and preservation of affordable housing, promoting equity and environmental justice, and support of high-quality jobs.

Climate United is a partnership of three national non-profitsCalvert Impact, The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and Self-Helpthat are complementary in their expertise and like-minded about the imperative to make sure that all Americans, particularly those bearing the greatest burden from the climate crisis, participate in and benefit from the movement to reduce carbon emissions. Between them, the organizations have 120 years of experience directly deploying more than $30 billion in low-income communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change. The core partners will be joined by multiple deployment and implementation partners to assist with management and mobilization of $6.97 billion from the National Clean Investment Fund established by the federal government as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Role Summary:

The Manager of Education & Outreach will work closely with the Director of Program Management, Manager of Market Building & Partnerships, and Manager of Communications, to develop a variety of outreach and educational materials to raise awareness about CPC Climate Capitals suite of products and to educate stakeholders about the program requirements, building decarbonization performance standards, and our commitment to investing in low income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC). These materials should be customized to the 10 EPA regions addressing unique climates, energy infrastructure, building type and local economics.

What Youll do:

  • Develop presentations on CPC Climate Capitals financial products, program eligibility, performance standards, and general green building issues and solutions.
  • Develop tools and educational assets to allow transaction partners and interested building owners to easily interpret the financing process, the program requirements, assess eligibility, estimate greenhouse gas reduction impact, etc.
  • Proactively develop assets that support the market for building decarbonization and integration of GGRF capital into the mortgage origination process.
  • Develop case studies and sample solutions to share with the market.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing training to lenders, owners, community organizations, building operators, and other priority segments, in conjunction with established, on the ground community organizations.
  • Track and report out on impact metrics in alignment with EPA requirements.
  • Perform other administrative duties, as needed.

Skills and Experience:

  • BA/BS required with minimum 5 years experience in related field.
  • Familiarity with the goals and objectives of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, particularly as they pertain to low-income and disadvantaged communities and building decarbonization.
  • Direct experience working in, or strong command of, energy, environmental, or building infrastructure sectors.
  • Superior communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts into clear, high-impact communications for various stakeholders.
  • Ability to present in public forums and convey complex concepts.
  • Ability to engage respectfully and meaningfully with various industry stakeholders and community partners.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate finance, preferred.
  • Knowledge of national/state energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction related policies, regulations, and standards, preferred.
  • Semi-regular domestic travel and overnights will be required.

This is a hybrid role that can be based in either NYC and would work out of our Manhattan office 2 – 3 days a week or remote in Washington DC, Illinois, California and will need to periodically travel to our Manhattan office. The salary range is $110,000 $130,000, dependent on experience.
