Who We Serve
Massachusetts was the first state in the nation to combine energy and environmental agencies under one Cabinet secretary. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) serves Commonwealth residents interested in outdoor recreational activities, clean energy solutions and those who work with animals and livestock. Equally, EOEEA works with energy consumers, power companies, clean energy providers and farmers to delicately balance the interaction with environmental protection laws and regulations while being a cornerstone for our economic prosperity.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs seeks applicants for the position of Federal Funds and Decarbonization Manager, to perform the following duties:
The EEA Climate Team works across agencies within EEA and other Secretariats to make progress in meeting the Commonwealth’s decarbonization and climate resilience commitments. To enhance EEA’s capacity to strategize around federal funding and more robustly track the implementation of the Clean Energy and Climate Plans, EEA’s Climate Team is seeking a Federal Funds & Decarbonization Policy Manager. This Manager would report to the Assistant Secretary of Decarbonization in a contract role of up to two years, funded by a grant from the United States Climate Alliance.
This Manager Will Focus In Two Primary Areas
Massachusetts’ 2025-2030 and 2050 CECPs name 97 commitments to reduce emissions in line with the state’s legally binding GHG limits, including the achievement of Net Zero in 2050. EEA’s Climate Decarbonization Team is responsible for working with all EEA agencies to create policies and programs that advance the objectives of the Commonwealth’s decarbonization commitments laid out in these plans.
