We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Sustainability Advisory Manager to join our Sustainability Advisory team.
CohnReznick is a hybrid firm meaning most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
The Sustainability Advisory practice helps CohnReznick clients manage ESG risk and develop and implement ESG strategies that deliver value to their stakeholders. This team helps businesses in many industries drive change by embedding ESG into their ‘business as usual’ while also bringing cross-functional teams together to scale ESG client solutions.

YOUR ROLE.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
- Understand ESG issues and how they impact clients’ business and operating models to be able to assess the maturity of clients’ ESG journey
- Conduct competitive benchmarking to help clients understand any gaps relative to peers in terms of ESG programs, ESG reporting, and ESG maturity
- Conduct research on emerging ESG reporting regulations, such as CA SB-253 and SB-261, EU CSRD, SEC Climate-Related Disclosures, and Building Energy Performance Standards.
- Knowledge of various ESG reporting frameworks, including ISSB, SASB, TCFD, GRI, CDP, and SDGs and how to apply them to corporate sustainability reports
- Conduct stakeholder interviews in a materiality assessment and triangulate interview results with market and peer benchmarking research to help clients prioritize material ESG issues
- Develop a strategic plan that outlines key milestones to operationalize ESG programs for prioritized material topics
- Understanding of the GHG protocol standard for measuring, calculating, and reporting Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions inventory
- Develop a decarbonization strategy for SBTi, including calculating the financial implications of different decarbonization levers in terms of investment costs and potential cost savings
- Measure social impacts of sustainability projects such as workforce development, household savings, health improvements, etc.
- Draft scope of procedures and develop budgets for ESG projects, such as regulatory compliance gap assessments, decarbonization strategy, GHG emissions inventory for Scope, 1, 2, and 3, climate risk scenario analysis, TCFD reporting, target-setting, and ESG strategy
- Effectively manage a team on large, complex engagements while executing on high quality deliverables; ensure projects remain on scope, schedule, and budget
- Contribute to ESG thought leadership and education internally and externally
- Develop innovative solutions that require application of practical knowledge, experience, and creativity
- Work collaboratively and effectively with other practices and industry groups involved in ESG engagement delivery
- Use data-driven techniques to structure quantitative analyses, identify and evaluate trends, and provide solutions
Your Experience.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelors degree required; Advanced degree preferred
- 4-6 years’ experience in sustainability/ESG Advisory services/Strategy consulting
- Understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics, including climate change and decarbonization, supply chain sustainability, social strategy, governance as well as familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and ESG disclosure regulations
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in management consulting environment or managing teams in an operating environment; in either scenario, experience focused on Corporate & Business Unit Strategy, Strategic Planning, Growth Strategy, Commercial Strategy, and Business Transformation
- Experience leading and delivering engagements with resources in multiple locations
- Ability to define trends across industries and articulate their impact to clients’ business and strategic choices, particularly as it relates to environmental impact / purpose-driven focus areas and opportunities for innovation
- Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and oral and written communication skills; outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion for ESG
- Ability to work independently; balance multiple initiatives simultaneously; ability to influence others and lead teams focused on specific work streams of large projects
- Ability to travel and to be present in CohnReznick offices for team building purposes, as needed
