COGS are assisting an industry leading waste management & power generation/renewable energy company as they seek to bring on a driven and ambitious EPC Construction Manager with experience in industrial settings (Power, Mining, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Aggregate, Metal Recycling, Waste-to-Energy).
For this role, you will provide supervisory and leadership support to a construction team of Foreman, Labourers and APM over 4-5 sites at a time, assisting with environmental facilities, putting in scale, fire overs, waste water treatment facilities, plumbing and piping, renovation, retrofits and new ground up construction within a heavy industrial setting.
The salary for this position is up to 140K Base + 10% Bonus and this position, although remote, required 40-50% travel to multiple sites across the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Create detailed project plans with schedules, key milestones, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet project goals.
Budget Oversight:
- Manage project budgets, ensuring financial compliance and cost control.
- Track expenses, monitor spending, and find opportunities for savings.
On-Site Construction Management:
- Supervise on-site activities to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and engineers to maintain technical scope.
- Lead construction crews and subcontractors, providing guidance and resolving issues.
Progress Tracking and Reporting:
- Inspect ongoing work, addressing delays and implementing solutions to stay on track.
- Update stakeholders on project status, milestones, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
Risk Mitigation:
- Identify and manage project risks, including safety and compliance issues.
- Implement strategies to minimize disruptions and address unexpected challenges.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelors Degree or commensurate experience
- Expertise in material handling within industrial settings (Power, Mining, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Aggregate, Metal Recycling, Waste-to-Energy).
- Knowledge of metal recovery equipment (Magnet and Eddy Current Separators).
- Proficiency with various conveyors (belt, vibrating, drag, screw, bucket, pneumatic).
- Familiarity with shredding, screening, and trommel technologies.
- Understanding of process controls, electrical, and structural designs.
- Experience with bulk handling, storage, loading/unloading systems, and mobile/transport equipment.
