We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual to join our team as an Electrical Engineer with 5 or more years of engineering experience. Candidate will apply engineering skills to a variety of diverse and challenging projects with an emphasis on Alternative Energy projects. Qualified candidates will have experience in engineering projects such as PV, BESS, EV and Microgrids with the ability to plan, organize, and direct project activities. The ideal candidate should have a desire to work and grow as a team player within a multi-discipline engineering firm.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Approximate Base Salary – $95,000.00 – $130,000.00 based on experience.
  • Potential signing bonus based on experience.
  • Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
  • Generous end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
  • 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have a passion for renewable energy and positive contributions toward climate change.
  • Take ownership of Project Deliverables/Design operations and Production assigned by department manager.
  • Develop complete construction documents, including drawings, power system studies, and specifications, working alongside and under the supervision of an engineering manager.
  • Perform the execution of designs, including medium and low voltage AC, DC, single line diagrams, electrical power and lighting plans, and equipment layout.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and provide engineering support through design and construction phases including responding to AHJ comments, shop drawing review, and responding to RFI’s.
  • Review of deliverables, including QA/QC through design and construction.
  • Serve as a technical resource to internal staff, organizing and implementing lessons learned.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
  • Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Power Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an electrical design position
  • Minimum 3 years of solar photovoltaic system design experience
  • Must have experience with Renewable Energy Design including PV, BESS, EV and/or Microgrids
  • Proven ability to research code, apply to projects, and effectively navigate the plancheck process
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Helioscope
  • Experience with PV Design Software (PVSyst, PVCase and or PVDesign)
  • Experience with ampacity studies
  • Knowledge of Title-24 Part 6 California Energy Conservation Code
  • Excellent leadership, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate design related items with the client and other consultants.
  • Excellent time management and people skills
  • Experience with IESNA requirements and general lighting design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe/Bluebeam software
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • PE license in Electrical Engineering preferred
    • Prior experience with interconnection and net metering agreements
    • Experience in negotiating engineering and or consultancy contracts.
    • Experience with commercial, public works, federal, and education projects
    • Experience with REVIT
    • Experience with SKM and/or ETAP programs
    • Experience with AGi32 and/or Visual
    • Strong problem-solving skills

    Expected Salary Range: $95,000.00 – $130,000.00.
