Job Description

Energetics is seeking a Transportation Program Consultant to work on a variety of activities in our Washington, DC and Columbia, MD offices, working with the U.S. Department of Energy, public and private vehicle fleets, State and local government energy offices, and other municipal offices. This is a great chance to grow your skills and knowledge while gaining experience in the energy consulting business.

The Transportation Program Consultant will be responsible for supporting programs in the areas of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle technologies, transportation decarbonization, electrification and transportation energy grid and infrastructure. Everyday duties could include interfacing with clients, researching trends and technologies, leading project teams to develop reports, program plans or other documents, and engaging in meetings with stakeholders. Successful candidates will be willing to take on a range of assignments in a diversity of areas, from advanced vehicles, energy efficiency, and grid resilience.

This is a hybrid role requiring 1 day a week in Washington DC.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve on a team in support of activities for relevant government research, development, and deployment of transportation and energy programs; interact directly with clients; work closely with/lead teams working on various analysis and programmatic projects
  • Collecting and analyzing project and program information
  • Developing and reviewing reports, white papers, program plans, other documents, etc.
  • Conducting research on transportation and energy policy, medium- and heavy-duty vehicle technologies, grid modernization, energy storage, materials, and transportation electrification.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or energy policy fields
  • 3+ years of relatable experience
  • Superior practical knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written), with the ability to author papers, reports, program plans or other communications for technical or non-technical audiences
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in science or engineering fields
  • Demonstrated experience in consulting
  • Familiarity and experience with energy, energy resilience, climate, and related fields

Target Compensation

$85,000 – $100,000 / year

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.

Compensation Range

$60,000.00 – $78,000.00
