The Role – Executive Sales Director – West Coast
Our client’s expanding US sales team is seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Executive Sales Director to further grow their customer pipeline within the energy and utility sector, with a focus on the West Coast of the United States.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive key relationships, generate and close high-impact deals, and play a vital role in the company’s growth. As the West Coast Sales Lead, you will be responsible for delivering substantial revenue growth, exceeding targets, and continuously developing a robust sales pipeline for services and products across the region.
To succeed in this role, you should bring extensive industry experience—in grid software or power system services—along with a strong network of C-suite contacts, key partners, and a solid understanding of power systems, Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) & Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
Responsibilities
- Drive material revenue growth through growing and developing a pipeline of utility customers and opportunities.
- Implement, Lead and Deliver our Sales Strategy in accordance with company targets.
- Develop & strengthen commercial relationships with sales channels and local partners, TSOs, DNOs and Energy Traders to further the company’s involvement
- Manage business development with Senior utility Leaders (C-Level to VP and Director level across operations, planning and procurement)
- Own and build a material sales pipeline for new and existing customers
- Provide up-to-date, accurate and insightful sales reporting to leadership team.
- Sales of highly technical products & services to Electric Utilities in the US market
- Renewable integration related key issues on grid stability for Electric Utilities
- Grid Software portfolio and grid automation portfolio for both Transmission and Distribution markets
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Proven ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- Proven ability to successfully drive sales opportunities from plan to close
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Solutions driven mindset giving you the ability to map the right solutions to help customers solve problems and reach their goals
- Attend industry conferences
Essential Experience
- 5+ years of working in a sales role within the US transmission/distribution (T&D) sector
- Solid connections at a senior level, plus strong negotiation skills
- Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS)
- Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)
- CRM (Salesforce)
- Measurable track record of delivering commercially and consistently achieving sales targets
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to successfully interact internally and externally.
- Degree level (or equivalent) in related technical disciplines would be an advantage (Electrical Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, Electronics)
