Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Engineer. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as electrical design, power distribution, and power systems. They will work on designing conceptualization and system architecture, prototype fabrication, circuit board layouts, design rework, and hardware & software design. The Electrical Engineer will also be involved in certification testing of electronics.

Responsibilities:

This position is a mid-level engineering position, appropriate for someone with 5+ years of experience in progressive responsibility in the field of electrical or computer engineering. 

The position is the Technical Lead for complex and technically challenging projects.

An experienced candidate filling the role will be expected to execute or assist in the execution of the following:

·  Communicate with customers in order to derive technical specifications, define clear deliverables and document processes that will follow each customer design effort.

· Lead Hardware or Software/Firmware architecture including key component selection for design implementation.

· Lead design teams and projects including taking on a coaching and mentoring role providing technical direction and best practices for other engineers within the team.

· Leverage the work of other relevant colleagues, including developers and project managers

  • Contribute towards multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Contribute directly to design efforts through System Design, Schematic Entry, Simulation, Software/Firmware development, Design Reviews, Test Specifications, PCB design, fabrication and assembly contracting.

·   Ship high-quality work following CEPD design standards and practices. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues on relevant tasks and projects to find the best possible solutions to issues that arise. 

Requirements & Qualifications:

· Must hold a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited school with 5+ years in design and development.

·  Preferred Team Lead experience.

·  Willingness and ability to interface directly with customers

·  Expected to demonstrate experience in the areas of

o  Leading development teams.

o  Software/firmware design with C & C++ embedded programming.

o  HDL & FPGA based design.

o  Electronic design/simulation/schematic capture of Analog and Digital circuits.

o  Direct experience or management of PCB Layout.

o  PCB bring-up, troubleshooting and test.

·  Strong work ethic, self-motivation, good communication skills

·  Candidate has capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
