The Sales Leader develops strategic plans to ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue for the East Business Unit (BU); provides direct leadership, management and coaching to the BU sales team; and actively manages performance to ensure sales results. The Sales Leader works to secure new business, develops growth plans, and is ultimately accountable to ensuring the BU sales goal is met and/or exceeded for Regional Sales including MUSH, C&I, Performance Contracting, etc. across a variety of energy scopes.

Looking for someone to be in the Mid Atlantic, PA, NY or New England and a desire to travel throughout the Business Unit territory.

Our Sales Leader contributes to the team by:

  • Being accountable for achieving or exceeding the Business Unit sales goal in partnership with the Business Unit Manager
  • Providing direct leadership, management and coaching to the BU sales team (Account Executives) and ensures that individual performance is actively managed in accordance to Centrica Business Solutions practices at all levels within the team
  • Developing a sales team (Account Executive) staffing plan and the talent acquisition functions for optimal hiring and retention
  • Coordinating resources to ensure stable sales results, including lead generation and pipeline development
  • Collaborating with the Business Unit Manager and Marketing team to establish and control budgets for marketing collateral, outreach programs and trade show expenses.
  • Collaborating with other Business Unit sales teams
  • Working with a cross-functional team consisting of finance, operations, engineering and marketing to secure new business and influence Business Unit and Company strategy
  • Developing and taking ownership of market growth plans, including vertical market targeting and horizontal offering strategies as well as expansion into new geographical territories
  • Understanding competitors within designated regional market in order to position Centrica Business Solutions unique approach, capabilities and offerings
  • Assisting sales team (Account Executives) in establishing relationships with top echelon decision-makers
  • Negotiating comprehensive energy projects with clients at the executive level and facilities staff level within their organization, as required
  • Leading customer meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations, as required
  • Cultivating and fostering customer relationships
  • Working with Account Executives to ensure accurate data is entered and maintained in Centrica Business Solutions CRM software

The core components needed to be successful in this role are (i.e. must haves):

  • At least 7 years successfully executing sales and/or marketing strategies (Account Executive) for an HVAC controls contractor, mechanical contractor, energy services company or a related organization
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions; produce results through strategic planning and evaluation

  • At least 5 years effectively managing people/teams
  • Bachelors degree Engineering, Business, Construction Management or a related field

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$185,000 + commission + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location and expectations during the hiring process.
