Job Description


Brief Description CAMS Solar Services, LLC is hiring a Solar/BESS O&M Service Technician with knowledge in electrical systems and commercial solar space. Our Service Technician will be responsible for completing service calls, troubleshooting solar and be cross trained on BESS site systems and electrical. Must have a strong safety mindset, an excellent work ethic, good communication and documenting skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working safely, including complying with all safety policies and procedures. Seeking ways to enhance safe operations.
  • Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) inverters, combiner boxes, solar panels, and BESS components as necessary.
  • Able to replace/install hardware, PV modules, inverters, monitoring equipment and any other battery equipment.
  • Perform commissioning of equipment depending on degree on maintenance needed.
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, if needed to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts.
  • Help in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by manager with minimal supervision.
  • Attend training sessions on equipment as provided by the manufacturer and approved by manager.
  • In the performance of your duties, use equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company.
  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
  • Carry out any other tasks delegated by the company.

Requirements

  • Strong safety orientation and the willingness and ability to work safely in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures and regulations
  • Experience in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred
  • PV system site inspection experience preferred
  • Electrical knowledge/training experience of at least one year.
  • NFPA 70e training for safe electrical work
  • Must have good organization, communication, analytical, planning and customer service skills
  • Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, have self-control and have high integrity
  • Must have flexibility to work during weekends and be always available on call
  • Competent skills using Microsoft office software’s like Outlook, Excel, Word

Essential Functions Include The Ability To

  • lift objects weighing 50 pounds
  • climb and descend stairs and ladders
  • stoop when servicing equipment
  • work outdoors, potentially in extreme weather conditions
  • move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • wear personal protective equipment
  • see and recognize hazards
