Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Analyst, Contract Management and Analysis with experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!

Role Summary

Analyst, Contract Management and Analysis is a hybrid role combining both the functions of contract administration and management by supporting contract preparation, managing the key terms and is responsible for the accurate set up and management of billable fees.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions Include

  • Comprehension of billing and terminal inventory systems in addition to general terminal operations knowledge
  • Assist commercial with drafting contracts focusing on the best approach to facilitate accurate and complete billing
  • Read, analyze, and interpret commercial revenue contracts with an expertise on segregated storage and determine the best practice for each billing scenario
  • Complete the contract entry and charge set-up process in the billing system applying best practices
  • Implement annual contract escalation provisions, including calculating percentage rate change, updating contract rate tables, and preparing/sending contract escalation letters
  • Track and manage key contractual dates and terms within the contract
  • Collaborate with Accounting on non-automated and non-standard billings
  • Calculate and submit monthly manual charges to Accounting for invoicing
  • Oversee proper documentation is received related to all billing changes to support audit requirements
  • Validate accurateness of contract fees in billing system
  • Help analyze, investigate, and resolve any customer invoicing inquiries or billing discrepancies
  • Contribute to the development and recommend improvements to the billing system to increase efficiencies and capabilities of the contract billing process
  • Aid with business asset acquisition integration
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent industry or related experience, as determined by Hiring Manager and HR).
  • Bookkeeping or Accounting (inventory) coursework a plus.
  • Experience in contract review to ensure proper interpretation and execution of the financially relevant aspects of contracts.
  • General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency using inventory control software products (such as Toptech Systems, Inc.) is preferred.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) required.
