Job Summary

We are seeking a Training and Development Manager to join the Plastics Health, Safety, and Environment team. The Training and Development Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives to enhance skills, knowledge, competency, and capabilities of our employees. They will collaborate with all departments to identify training needs, develop training programs, create efficient training tracking, and facilitate learning opportunities that align with Brightmark’s objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning and opportunities for employee development.
  • With technical support, design and develop comprehensive training programs, workshops and learning resources tailored to meet the needs of different employee groups.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Create clear communication channels with all departments to ensure training courses are updated regularly.
  • Facilitate training sessions.
  • Identify gaps in training knowledge.
  • Manage the companys Learning Management System, including content uploading, user management, and reporting.
  • Provide technical support and training to employees on using the Learning Management Systems effectively.
  • Track different required trainings and evaluations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Recommend improvements to evaluation methods and standardize where possible.
  • Deliver nontechnical training to employees.
  • Performs related administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Work with internal and external resources to create and manage training content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience working with training programs.
  • Familiarity with LMS and e-Learning platforms.
  • Must be proficient with Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong oral and written communications, including the ability to effectively present to both large and small groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and lead by example.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Familiarity with creating SCORM files preferred.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs and special projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • System development experience.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, training facilitation and learning program development.
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
  • Technical background, experience in mechanical devices or process equipment or chemistry is a plus.
  • Oil and gas and/or chemical industry experience preferred.
