We are looking for a Customer Proposals Senior Technical Project Manager to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Proposals Operations Leader and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Development:
  • Collaborate with front-end sales teams to gather project requirements and objectives during each contractual phase.
  • Coordinate project milestones throughout escalating phases of proposal maturity.
  • Prepare comprehensive site information package and conceptual design drawings.
  • Validate contractual proposal documents against each other to ensure consistency, thoroughness, and appropriate risk mitigation
  • Plan Set Review and Development:
  • Work closely with Sales Engineers and global drafting teams to prepare conceptual design drawings inclusive of site layouts and single line drawings in a timely manner
  • Review and validate drawings against proposed site configurations, scope of work and division of responsibility, internal design specifications, high-level site optimization, and internal drawing template standards
  • Due Diligence and Risk Management:
  • Coordinate and support the preparation of a thorough site due diligence package inclusive of electrical network screening, gas screening, and permitting due diligence.
  • Develop and maintain a project risk register that properly identifies potential challenges and mitigation measures to ensure proactive risk management.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales account executives, sales engineers, cost estimators, global drafting teams, downstream project managers, supply chain, site design, utility and permitting teams, construction, and service teams to effectively capture and manage information flow.
  • Effectively communicate project requirements, timelines, and expectations to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional execution teams to develop a duration-based delivery schedule.
  • Proactively manage and ensure alignment of project milestones with overall contracting and execution timelines.
  • Handover and Execution:
  • Create the final handover package, including all necessary documentation and deliverables.
  • Conduct comprehensive project handover meetings to downstream teams, relaying all necessary project information, ensuring a smooth transition for execution and setting up downstream teams for success.

Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering background required.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the fields of Civil, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering, with Project Management experience a plus.
  • Experience in Renewables preferred.
  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of front-end processes, proposal development, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with diverse upstream and downstream teams.
  • Highly accountable and proactive, with a keen eye for detail to ensure completeness of proposals.
  • Ability to read and interpret both civil and electrical construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion at project handover.
  • Results-oriented and collaborative individual with a passion for driving successful project outcomes in the dynamic fuel cell industry.
  • Ability to leverage data-driven insights for continuous improvement and ensure the highest standards of project performance.

Salary Ranges:

$127,100.00 – $182,900.00
