Biscayne Engineering Company is a full-service surveying and engineering company that began in 1898. We were one of the first companies established in Florida and one of the oldest businesses in South Florida. Because of our line of work, our contributions to the growth of South Florida are immeasurable including projects like the developments of Villa Vizcaya, Star Island, and Miami Beach. We take on clients in both the private and public sectors and have worked with some high-profile clients including the University of Miami, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the South Florida Water Management District to name a few. While Biscayne has accomplished much, we pride ourselves in remaining a small business with offices in both Miami and Boca Raton.

As a Survey Technician at Biscayne, you will work on diverse projects with various sizes, scopes, and details. You will work in a flexible work environment with a fantastic culture and a national presence. We are looking for Survey Technicians who are interested in being subject matter experts in land development, renewable energy, and construction projects.

Resourceful Support:

  • Act as a valuable resource for design staff, guiding drafting practices and procedures.

CAD Proficiency:

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software to complete assignments, ensuring they align with Biscayne’s standards.

Drawing Production:

  • Generate various drawings specific to projects, including ALTA, Final Plats, Maps of Dedication, construction layouts, and construction staking.

Survey Data Analysis:

  • Review project survey data to analyze existing site conditions, considering factors like legal descriptions, ALTA Surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.

Plan Modification:

  • Responsibly edit and modify plans in line with revisions from agencies, municipalities, and clients, following directives closely.

Workflow Coordination:

  • Maintain open communication with Project Managers and Team Leaders regarding workflow status, ensuring the team meets chargeability goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of previous AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) Preferred
  • High School Diploma Required, Associated Degree Preferred
  • Thorough understanding of ALTAs, Topo’s, Boundaries, and Construction Staking
