Position Summary

Bila Solar is seeking a technical initiative-taker and problem-solver to join our company and help drive our solar panel initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in product management, with a focus on solar modules. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and have a passion for creative data-driven decision-making. This position will report to the General Manager and work closely with all global teams involved in product development to identify and implement opportunities for reduced costs and improved value for applications in the U.S. market. Must be execution-oriented, able to influence and lead a variety of stakeholders, good with customers, and have high attention to detail to enhance solar system competitiveness and technical suitability while ensuring compliance with U.S. industry regulations and standards.

Bila Solar is an innovative solar energy company that manufactures groundbreaking solutions to transform and power the world, driving evolution in the renewable energy sector. The companys flagship product ultralight solar modules paves a new path for the solar industry by transcending the limitations of traditional glass and aluminum-framed panels.

Bila Solars products enable installations on low load-bearing roofs, curved surfaces, and other locations where traditional solar modules cant go. In August 2023, Bila Solar announced plans to enter the US market through establishing a new, world-class solar manufacturing facility at a former Eli Lilly plant in Indianapolis, IN. Retrofitting is under way with plant operations targeted to commence in mid-2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the global U.S. product development team tasked with developing and sourcing innovative product solutions for the U.S. market. Develop and own the 3-Year U.S. solar product roadmap to optimize for the lowest cost, best-fit solutions for the market.
  • Provide project status reports for management, lead ideation sessions with sales and customers, and manage global stakeholder engagement.
  • Work with customers and the sales department to identify and build compelling business cases for features and new solutions required to be successful in the U.S. market.
  • Provide insights and analytical-driven approaches for best-fit products and accessories.
  • Identify and lead other internal initiatives to drive solar product competitiveness and technical suitability with quality, operations, etc.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with vendors and partners to ensure a seamless product lifecycle from initial design to end-of-life management.
  • Collaborate directly with test labs and internal product development teams to ensure products comply with building codes and are certified through appropriate testing.
  • Manage external engineering disciplines and testing agencies as required.
  • Stay recent with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to solar photovoltaics, building codes, and the roofing industry.
  • Develop whitepapers, documentation, presentations, etc. to support product acceptance and traction in the marketplace.
  • Support sales and marketing with training and materials necessary to speed adoption of products.

Education and Experience

  • College degree.
  • Minimum 4 years industry experience working in solar.
  • Deeply familiar with designs for the commercial and residential solar projects.
  • Experience with solar project designs and lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to translate a product vision into an action-based roadmap.
  • Experience with product management, product testing and certification processes with NRTLs.
