Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Job Description

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for all procurement activities supporting the Manufacturer, Service and Maintenance of Capital Equipment. This role involves coordinating and collaborating with other departments, such as Project Management, Engineering, the Services team and Finance, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products. This is a critical role in ensuring the success of our business through achieving high standards in quality, on-time material supply and profitability.

Essential Functions: 

  • Managing and expanding Supply Chain
  • Conducting all Procurement activities
  • Identifying qualified vendors
  • Obtaining quotations
  • Negotiating pricing
  • Developing requisitions
  • Expediting orders
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
  • Develop and maintain strong Vendor relationships
  • Collaborating with Product Management and Engineering to support production schedules and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively to ensure alignment and resolve issues
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

  • Associates degree or higher, preferably in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or business administration, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong skills in mathematics, finance or accounting
  • Strong work ethic
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred but not required
  • Experience within the Water & Wastewater industry preferred but not required
