Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven M&A professional to lead the acquisition and closure of distributed generation solar, storage and community solar projects from their partners. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Distributed Generation and Community Solar acquisition process, with a proven track record of successfully closing deals. This role offers a great opportunity to manage and execute large-scale solar transactions across the U.S. while fostering strong relationships with key partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transactions for 50+ MWdc of distributed generation solar and community solar projects annually across the U.S.
- Negotiate critical documents and financial terms to mitigate project risks and maintain profitability.
- Build and nurture relationships with partners, guiding them through the deal cycle to ensure positive outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on projects, ensuring all deal milestones are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain closing schedules, manage diligence lists, and organize deal teams to ensure timely project closures.
- Collaborate with the Origination team to build financial models and support project valuations.
- Evaluate project viability and structure transactions that align with company return requirements.
- Stay informed about solar market trends, local policies, industry costs, and key players.
- Track and organize all project closing efforts, ensuring seamless transitions and detailed documentation.
- Provide financial and transactional support to partners throughout the project development phase.
- Attend trade shows annually to represent the company and expand industry connections.
- Travel as necessary to meet partners and support deal activities.
- Support opportunity tracking and forecasting activities using Salesforce.com.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in M&A or finance roles, with a focus on solar projects.
- Strong track record of successfully closing solar transactions.
- Proven experience negotiating MIPA, PPA, and EPC Agreements.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a technical field (advanced degrees preferred).
- High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
