Location: Remote (slight preference for Denver/Boulder or Atlanta)

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 base plus carried interest

Role Overview:

Automotive Ventures is seeking a dynamic and driven Analyst to join our growing investment team. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our expanding portfolio of early stage startups and gain invaluable experience in the venture and mobility ecosystems. As an Investment Analyst, you will play a crucial role in evaluating potential investments, conducting thorough research, and supporting the operation of our firm. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing team that will expose you to all facets of building and running a venture firm, where there will be many opportunities to take on additional responsibility and develop and advance within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support evaluation of potential investments in early-stage companies, including financial due diligence, market research, competitive analysis, and legal review, culminating in the creation of robust internal and external investment memos.
• Assist in sourcing and deal pipeline activities, including crafting communications with founders and both internal/external pipeline database maintenance. 
• Research and analyze emerging market trends and opportunity areas, contributing to the development of new investment theses.
• Monitor portfolio company performance and support with internal fund operations requirements, including the preparation of Limited Partner reporting materials/communications and executing internal fund projects and events.
• Represent Automotive Ventures at industry events and conferences, working to build and maintain strong networks within the startup ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, co-investors, and industry experts.
• Prepared to occasionally travel both domestically and internationally (estimate: ~5%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business management, economics, computer science, or mathematics.
• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within one of the following: investment banking, consulting, VC/PE, as an entrepreneur, or a position in a high-growth, venture-backed technology company.
• Intellectually curious and comfortable with ambiguity in a dynamic workplace, capable of managing self-directed projects effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:

The salary for this position will range from $80,000 – $90,000 in addition to a profit interest in the fund (known as “carry”, carried interest), healthcare, and other benefits.
