Mission

As Design Engineer your mission is to be an integral player in the development of new products and maintenance of existing products that conform to all aspects of product requirements including performance and return on investment. Utilize your Engineering skills to develop products with powerful customer impact. Use your creative thinking and ambition to drive solutions for our customers with commitment, innovation and interaction focusing on quality and cost. Assure product documentation (drawings, BOM…) are up to date. Manage the release of engineering DN’s. Conduct cross-functional team meetings to solve product problems during its life cycle.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Strive to maintain First Time Right (FTR) metric of greater than 90%
  • Create and maintain 3D master assembly models of your products using Atlas Copco drawing methods and standards using but not limited 3D CAD software (i.e., Inventor, CREO, etc.), Product Lifecycle Management software for drawings and documents (i.e., Windchill).
  • Create and maintain detailed 2D component drawings with all required information using proper Atlas Copco dimensioning techniques, welding symbology, material callouts and part marking.
  • Coordinate new designs and design updates to Atlas-Copco global design center (GECIA).
  • Manage engineering DN releases.
  • Create and maintain product bills of material as they relate to your product/project.
  • Develop in full any product options that relate to your product/project.
  • Identify ALL critical assembly operations and provide necessary assembly information (i.e. fastener torques) on system commodity drawings to relay important assembly details to production.
  • Create and maintain Engineering related instructions as they relate to the routing of flexible hoses, electrical wirings, fuel lines, etc.
  • Be prepared to assist Lab personnel in the assembly of prototypes for your products in development as necessary.

Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years as an Engineer in a manufacturing company or R & D design center.
  • Prior experience in rotating machinery development is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with Portable Energy equipment is a definite plus.

Education

Bachelor in Physics, Mechanical engineering

Skills

  • Good communication & multicultural inclusion and diversity

  • Able to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • High competency of written and spoken English is required. Other languages are a plus.

  • Committed to accuracy and detail.
  • Must have a proven track record of positive results.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times (rarely).

Occasional travel may be required.
