Main Responsibilities
- Assisting peers and superiors with layout and installation of solar arrays and equipment from plans
- Maintain a clean and secure job site at all times which includes activities such as; grounds keeping, debris removal, hauling and hoisting materials when needed, panel washing
- Correctly wiring the DC portions of the solar system
- Communicate with team on project milestones
- Work under install manager and crew leader to assist the team and ensure jobs are completed with the highest quality standards in a timely manor
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of roof work, general construction, or carpentry required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a solar installer or equivalent strongly preferred
Ideal Attributes
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required
- Must have a reliable source of transportation and a valid drivers license
- Must be willing to learn and follow directions from others
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Must be comfortable with working in heights
- Position oneself in a stoop, crouch, crawl and kneeling positions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in outdoor conditions; including humid, hot and cold weather
- Knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools
- Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to multi task
- Strong customer service skills required
- Strong desire and ability to learn and grow in the profession
