Key Responsibilities


As our Business Development Manager, to lead client relationships and drive growth in our SaaS software solutions for the energy sector. Based in Houston, you’ll leverage your network and proven expertise to strategically pitch, sell, and manage key accounts. In addition, you will:
  • Participate in the development, presentation, and sales of a value proposition.
  • Primary job duty is to promote technology software products and related services in North America.
  • Develop solution proposals encompassing all aspects of the software product and associated services.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and partners by understanding their needs and anticipating them in advance.
  • Build and expand business partner revenue and self-sufficiency, where partnering is applicable.
  • Develop a robust sales pipeline and handle account planning, creating, owning, and forecasting.
  • Complete own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures.
  • Gain access and build relationships with key executives and decision-makers.
  • Cold calling, prospecting new businesses, and making outbound calls.
  • Analyze market drivers and utilize market data to develop and recommend strategies to grow the book of business.
  • Strategically design a plan to effectively manage the North American territory to maximize incoming revenue and
  • Profits to meet annual quota objectives.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills, with an established network in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in the drilling and wells domain.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, understand market trends and manage budgets/targets while promoting technical products and services.
This position is based in Houston, United States. The candidate should have the right to live and work in the United States.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in business development and strategy, with demonstrated success in driving growth and achieving business objectives within the Energy Sector. You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions. In addition, you will have:
  • BSc/MSc in Engineering; a business degree is a plus.
  • 6-8 years of experience in the energy or management consulting industries, with 3-5 years in business development.
  • Strong network in US upstream oil and gas, particularly in drilling & wells, with experience promoting software solutions.
  • Self-driven, familiar with SaaS, ERP, and asset management systems, and skilled in sales pipeline management.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, writing tenders, business development strategy, and delivering impactful demos and presentations.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to convert leads into sales.
  • Experience presenting at industry conferences and managing key accounts for ABL Group in the US.
Desirable Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of global energy market trends, demand, and supply to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Comfortable working with budgets, targets, and commercial/contractual agreements.
  • Experience in inbound lead generation, SEO, and tender portal administration.
  • Management training, skills development, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, with a high degree of independence, motivation, and self-belief.
  • Skilled in performance management and driving results.
