About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. IT/IS Manager, you will be responsible for starting up several critical manufacturing applications. Duties will primarily involve Apriso MES and global applications for the manufacturing environment to assure successful production. This position will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures and working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance. The ideal candidate will partner with management on key initiatives and will develop, implement, and manage various projects and programs in support of overall business effectiveness. Your work within the IT Team will directly impact our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in the design, implementation, administration, and support of the local MES Apriso System with the assistance of regional and global MES resources.
  • Collaborate in the system integration testing and factory acceptance testing for machine equipment startup. Act as a liaison between process equipment engineers, equipment vendors, contractors, and the IT department. Work with vendors and IT resources in resolving equipment to MES connection issues.
  • Assist with the implementation and support of our Ignition SCADA system including PLCs, HMIs, Control and Supervisory systems for building automation and manufacturing support.
  • Assist with the implementation and support of other plant specific applications including platforms for quality, supply chain management, ERP, etc.
  • Provides improvements to the various existing and new systems in coordination with global CoE Team.
  • Collaborates with process engineers, product engineers, quality and production managers to optimize production processes.
  • Establish and maintain interfaces and communications between MES, ERP and other systems.
  • Prepares and maintains full MES documentation.
  • Learns and improves existing in-house systems. Resolves issues and implements new feature requests.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technical training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in industrial automation environments working with MES systems or application development and data collection related to factory automation.
  • Experience with application and system integrations.
  • Experience with machine level integrations.
  • Experience with SCADA systems including HMIs, PLCs, and Control Systems
  • Understanding of databases and database management tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to troubleshoot, modify, and standardize EUC environments.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and be able to manage priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving techniques for issue resolution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Teams, PowerPoint, etc.

What is “Nice to Have”?

  • Experience with Apriso MES Environment and Ignition SCADA Systems
  • Experience with integrating MES environments with other applications such as SAP.
  • Experience in green field new manufacturing plant startups.
  • Knowledgeable of Open Platform Communication (OPC) servers, such as Kepware.
  • Experience with Oracle Databases.
  • Programming experience in .NET, C# or VB.net. or similar.
  • Experience with PowerBI.
  • Background in OT / IT network design elements.
  • Background in project management methods such as Agile / Scrum.
  • Developing Implementation plans.
  • Incident, problem, and change management .
  • Networking concepts and technologies.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing, EV manufacturing, or refinery operations.
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous.
  • Cross-cultural experience.

Travel

Occasional domestic travel required.
