Under direct supervision of the Environmental Team Leader, the Environmental Scientist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all issued permits and applicable local, State and Federal environmental Laws, Ordinances, Regulations and Statutes, and will share responsibility for all aspects of environmental reporting and compliance (air, waste, and water) including monitoring, inspecting, auditing, reporting, and recordkeeping for the AES Indiana Petersburg Generating Station.
The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for implementing and insuring compliance with environmental management processes and Standard Operating Procedures at AES Indiana Petersburg, for proactively monitoring proposed regulations that may impact Petersburg facility operations and business planning and will participate in various work groups. Will also work closely with the Environmental Team to implement the business Environmental Management System and complete any appropriate tasks within Intelex (ie. Internal and external audits).
Must be willing to share ownership of AES Indiana Petersburg’s environmental compliance program, and act as a contact for all federal, state, and local environmental regulatory agencies for the AES Indiana Petersburg Generating Station and be responsible for compliance and reporting deadlines.
