Position Description
Advanced Energy United (United) is currently seeking a Policy Principal to join our Decision Maker Education and Engagement team (DMEE).
The DMEE team assists state regulators, state energy office officials, and policymakers to better understand advanced energy products, services, and business models. Through National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and National Association of State Energy (NASEO) engagement, business roundtables, and educational forums, United educates key stakeholders about the benefits advanced energy technologies and services can provide to customers and helps to solve the challenges in obtaining these benefits.
Reporting directly to the Policy Director, the Policy Principal will be responsible for strategizing, implementing, and managing state-level regulatory campaigns dedicated to ensuring key decision-makers understand the importance and value of clean energy. The ideal candidate has exceptional project management, relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as an ability to quickly assess and act upon political dynamics. Candidates should also possess an interest in—and working knowledge of—energy policy issues and related political dynamics. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and flexible.
Candidates will need to travel to meet with key stakeholders on a regular basis.

Salary: Starting at $70,000
