Job Description

Duties:

  • Collaborate with technology counterparts within Company, including other Company Americas ROC Technology Engineers, to ensure technology engineering tools and processes in Americas ROC represent the latest and most updated versions available.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal design standards consistent with the most updated tools and processes within Company.
  • Lead technical proposal generation and support development of commercial proposals in support of Company Americas ROC Commercial team.
  • Responsible for the development of the expert basis during the execution of awarded projects as well as responsible for the performance guarantees, as well as guiding engineering team and participating in client meetings throughout project execution.
  • Develop and manage improvement concepts to drive technology development positioning for successful award of future licenses, including collaborating with Company colleagues globally, as needed.
  • Contribute to and support Field Support team to safely and successfully commission new units, including development and review of startup/shutdown procedures, and ongoing unit support during normal operation.
  • Provide training to Company Americas ROC team members from all business units, as needed.
  • Promote technology with external parties to present technical advantages in various meeting formats, from large industry conferences to smaller one-on-one settings.
  • Assist and support Company’ Renewables technologies beyond those of primary responsibility, including but not limited to lipids hydro processing (Vegan®) technology.
  • Domestic and international travel up to 25% of time to promote technologies and engage in various commercial unit activities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 50% of the calendar work year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or relevant discipline required.
  • Master’s or PhD in the above listed disciplines a plus.
  • Five (5) years’ of demonstrated experience with biomass conversion technologies required, with experience on bioethanol and/or biomass gasification technologies preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience with hydro processing of fats, oils, and greases (lipids) preferred.
  • Field experience preferred (includes experience in commissioning/startup/shutdown activities and ongoing operation unit support.
  • Expertise in chemical engineering fundamentals including reaction engineering, catalyst, and general chemistry required.
  • Experience with PRO/II simulation software and Excel-based modelling tools preferred.
  • Experience in basic process design, project engineering, and economics preferred.
  • Experience giving technical presentations to large audiences with strong technical expertise preferred.
