As we expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronics Engineer to ensure the excellence and reliability of our advanced energy storage solutions.
Responsibilities
- Solder, assemble, test, and inspect prototype electronics and wire harnesses
- Assemble and set up test fixtures and equipment
- Perform functional testing on prototype electronics and provide feedback to engineering
- Assist in developing acceptance testing procedures for electronics alongside engineers
- Fabricate special test boxes and harnesses as needed
- Troubleshoot, root cause, and document electronic assembly issues
- Perform printed circuit board assembly modifications such as component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components, etc.
- Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets
- Procure necessary tools, equipment and components for prototype builds
- Setup and utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters with minimal direction
- Maintain and clean and organize lab and workspace
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge or experience with analog and digital circuits
- Experience in the use of electronics test equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, multimeters, and so on
- Experience in soldering/reworking small and large components, including very small SMT components, using hand irons and hot air
- Experience and ability to fabricate and perform PCB assembly of surface mount and through-hole components
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and peers assigned to projects to rectify discrepancies in design and/or documentation
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
- Ability to context-switch between multiple different projects
- Strong teamwork skills
- Ability to balance perfection and practicality
- Proactive: identifies and fills in gaps where needed, takes ownership
- Effective writing and communication skills
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Familiarity with common communication protocols: CAN, I2C, SPI, UART preferred
- Familiarity with PCB design and EDA software preferred
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc.) preferred
