General Description
Under general direction, the Sustainability Program Analyst is focused on resiliency and driving sustainability considerations and initiatives by analyzing customer objectives, communicating and implementing customer strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts while incorporating strategies into business plans; determining and maintaining resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; and demonstrating adaptability while sponsoring continuous learning. This position will partner with cross-functional energy, water, and climate leads, as well as key customer stakeholders to drive the development of environmental sustainability strategies and initiatives.
How You Will Fulfill Your Mission
- Maintain expert knowledge of existing and evolving federal sustainability requirements and familiarity with associated operational systems.
- Provide technical and administrative support to various customer stakeholders, sustainability strategies, and initiatives.
- Establish customer sustainability program goals, priorities, and strategies, and support development of an agency-wide implementation plan to execute the identified strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate and enhance cross-functional, enterprise-wide, sustainability teams; act as sustainability subject matter expert and engage with these teams to coordinate implementation of sustainability programs that will address the specific needs of each part of the organization.
- Engage with sustainability teams to proactively plan and revise execution of strategic initiatives as customer requirements dictate.
- Develop and advance innovative, coordinated collaboration (and associated methodologies) to promote a measurable culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship throughout customer organizations.
- Comprehend and organize metrics, trends, and key performance data from the various sustainability teams; communicate results and strategic planning impacts to various levels of customer management, including senior and executive management.
- Coordinate and provide support for sustainability goal reporting, including development of annual plans and management presentations.
- Champion continuous improvement in customers sustainable operational performance while providing direction on anticipated future sustainability requirements.

Specific Knowledge/Certification Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree environmental science, environmental engineering, natural, physical or life science, communications, public administration, or another relevant field
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional work experience as a technical subject matter expert conducting complex research and analysis in sustainability, environmental energy efficiency, or closely related field
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with a strong focus on implementable outcomes
- Knowledge and practical application of cross-functional sustainability drivers, such as energy and water conservation practices, renewable/sustainable energy procurement, climate change action planning, sustainable facility design practices, waste reduction, reuse, and green procurement, as well as their practical application
- Demonstrated ability to clean and process raw data, extracting actionable, relevant information that will help businesses make inform decisions; and presenting the data using data visualization tools
- Demonstrated experience with marketing and communicating change management to support the adoption of new programs or initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional Operations and maintenance (LEED AP O+M), or similar environmental, sustainable, or professional designation.
- Knowledge of federal sustainability requirements.
- Experience with ISO 50001, Energy Management Standard and ISO 14001, Environmental Management.
