Position Overview:

Harris Energy Solutions, LLC (HES) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Director of Energy Modeling to lead our energy forecasting and scenario analysis efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of advanced energy modeling techniques, a proven ability to manage a team, and a passion for driving innovation and efficiency in energy solutions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead Energy Modeling Development & Implementation:

  • Drive the creation and refinement of advanced energy models, ensuring they meet the companys strategic objectives for forecasting, scenario analysis, and energy market strategies.
  • Innovate energy modeling techniques to provide cutting-edge solutions and maintain the companys competitive advantage in the industry.

Team Leadership & Oversight:

  • Manage and mentor a team of energy modelers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  • Ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of all energy modeling work, aligning team output with overall company goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and business development, to integrate modeling insights into broader company initiatives.
  • Assist other teams with Energy Audits and Measurement & Verification (M&V) tasks, ensuring that energy savings, performance, and sustainability goals are accurately assessed and reported.

Business Development & Client Engagement:

  • Contribute to business development efforts by providing technical expertise and modeling insights to support proposal development, client presentations, and project bids.
  • Actively engage with clients to understand their needs, demonstrate the value of HESs energy modeling capabilities, and deliver tailored solutions that drive business growth.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and relationships to identify new business opportunities and partnerships.

Executive & Stakeholder Communication:

  • Present complex modeling findings, forecasts, and recommendations to executive leadership, stakeholders, and clients in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven insights that align with company growth and sustainability goals.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement in energy modeling techniques, tools, and methodologies, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the modeling team, encouraging exploration of new approaches that enhance performance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance & Industry Standards:

  • Ensure that all energy modeling activities comply with relevant industry regulations, standards, and environmental policies.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes that could impact energy modeling practices and guide the team in implementing necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in energy modeling, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, SAM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, demand forecasting, and sustainability principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to balance technical expertise with business acumen, driving both operational excellence and revenue growth.

Preferred:

  • Experience with renewable energy systems, energy storage, or grid management solutions.
  • Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.

Pay: $95,000 – $115,000 per year
