The Role:

As a Meyer Burger Production Operator, you will be part of a company helping drive the global transition to sustainable energy. The Production Operator will support the Supervisor/Production Lead in achieving operational goals in the areas of safety, quality, continuous improvement, training, change management and positive peer engagement. This role is crucial for the seamless integration of our manufacturing and material management processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring the highest quality of solar panels, and managing materials efficiently throughout our manufacturing facility. Production Operators are expected to constantly push the boundaries of their abilities and challenge themselves to continue to learn and grow with their knowledge of the line and the quality of the product we produce.


Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

  • Operate and maintain production equipment, ensuring efficient on-time production of high-quality solar panels.
  • Perform setup and adjustments to machinery according to production specifications.
  • Monitor production processes and conduct quality control checks to ensure product meets company standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues, making adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Manage inventory, including receiving, storing, and organizing materials and finished products.
  • Ensure materials are supplied to production areas as needed, optimizing workflow and minimizing downtime.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to move products and supplies safely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Record and report production data, including materials usage, production volumes, and quality issues, to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Being an active participant in production priorities by continuously meeting cycle time requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing work space.
  • Must be open to working either day or night shift depending on business need.
  • Supports action plans to meet department goals in the areas of quality, labor efficiency, labor utilization, housekeeping, and productivity improvements.
  • Follows and executes safety protocols/standards.
  • Assistance in carrying out plant preventative maintenance repairs.
  • Assistance in carrying out material inventory counts.
  • Partners with peers, supervisors, leads, and other resources across departments to address and solve critical operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Escalates issues in a timely manner and supports all functions of the business.
  • Collaboration in the continuous improvement process.
  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or manager.

You bring:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Commitment to safety and quality procedures to promote a safe environment and quality product.
  • 1-3 years related manufacturing experience (solar module or EV automotive experience a plus).
  • Ability to work well under pressure; ability to juggle competing demands.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to team culture.
  • Language skills: English.


A Plus
:

  • Experience working in a greenfield manufacturing site a plus.
  • Bilingual/ Spanish or other foreign language skills.
  • Understanding of mechanical and standardized processes.
