Compensation: $50-$63/hr Contract-To-Hire – $120k-$130k+ full time salary

Company Profile:

Rapidly growing solar utility EPC specializing in BESS is actively recruiting a Project Engineer – Electrical to join the team on a contract-to-hire position! This is an immediate opening working remotely with the goal of becoming a full-time employee with approximately 25% travel to customer sites. The current projects are focused in CA, AZ and TX. We are looking for candidates who can work within an hour of an office location or open to relocating:

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer – Electrical will be responsible for overseeing the BESS portion solar utility projects construction projects for customers nationally to ensure projects are built safely, meeting deliverables and within budget. Additional responsibilities include:

Assisting in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to gather project requirements.

Conducting feasibility studies, technical analyses, and design reviews.

Preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Monitoring project progress and identifying risks and issues.

Supporting the coordination of project deliverables and milestones.

Providing technical support to the construction and installation teams.

Manage external engineering firms, subcontractors and as well as internal engineering disciplines (electrical) to meet on time, on budget, and high quality completion of project deliverables.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring deliverables meet contractual requirements, are constructable, and that country / regional impacts to design / cost are considered by engineering functions.

Manage internal and external design review meetings and verify compliance with the internal quality program certified to ISO 9001. Drive a culture of value engineering and encourage innovation and innovative approaches for best in class system design / constructability

Support Project Procurement by developing construction and electrical equipment specifications and performing technical reviews of vendor and subcontractor technical proposals.

Review internal and subcontractors design to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 2-5+ years of Electrical Project Engineering experience for utility scale projects
• BESS experience is a plus
• Interested in becoming a BESS expert
• Design capabilities are a plus
• Experienced overseeing engineering consulting firm is a plus
• Open to traveling 25%+ nationally (Current projects are CA, AZ and TX)
