SOLV Energy is an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and solar services provider for utility solar, high voltage substation and energy storage markets across North America. Job Description Summary: The MET Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of MET Vendors and Customer Projects.

This position can be Remote or Hybrid in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review all Project Specifications regarding MET equipment requirements, quantities, and scope for BD RFP pursuits
  • Coordinate with SOLV BD & Estimating on MET estimate for RFP pursuits
  • Coordinate with SOLV Performance Team on project MET requirements as well as SOLV MET equipment needs for Capacity Testing
  • Coordinate with PreCon for all MET scope to be awarded to MET Vendors
  • Review MET Vendor drawings for accuracy and project requirement compliance
  • Coordinate with SOLV OTS for project communications infrastructure for METs
  • Ensure that SOLV OTS SCADA PM is communicating with MET provider for things like:
  • Datamaps
  • Managed switch configurations
  • MET Vendor(s) Remote access to SCADA platform for remote assistance
  • Coordinate and attend meeting between SOLV Site Teams and MET Vendor(s) for
    • Site preparation requirements
    • Deliver, Install, and Commissioning (Cx) scheduling
    • Field related issues
  • Coordinate with MET Station Manager and Performance team to review and comment on MET related scopes for contract negotiations for PreCon
  • Attend in-person meetings with MET Vendor(s) as necessary
  • Act as point of contact between design team, internal SOLV teams, owners, and MET Vendor(s)
  • Assist with coordination between site teams, internal SOLV teams, owners, and MET Vendor(s)
    • Coordinate issues from design team or owners with MET Vendor(s)
    • Work with SOLV Scheduling team to ensure MET related scopes are aligned with other scopes and AHJ requirements (Utility or ISO point-to-point testing, minimum monitoring equipment requirements for backfeed, etc.)
    • Work with Engineering, PreCon, OTS, and Procurement teams to monitor project progress with assigned MET Vendor(s)
    • Coordinate with MET vendor(s) for timely Cx reports for review by SOLV and transmit to filed team after SOLV approval (MET Station and Performance teams)
    • Prepare End of Week progress report for all assigned in-flight projects
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate with MET Station team as needed
  • Point of Contact for MET related issues for SOLV internal teams (Site, Performance, OTS, etc.)
    • Work with Site team to identify issues and work through initial troubleshooting steps
    • Get MET Vendor(s) involved as required (remotely or on site) for assistance
  • Provide miscellaneous MET Engineering and Administrational support on as-needed basis
    • Site visits to get familiarized with MET Vendor(s) equipment and installs
    • Review MET vendor(s) plans or submittals for completeness and adherence to specifications
    • Other miscellaneous administrative tasks
  • Manage MET Vendor(s) digital drawings and submittals for projects on Teams or SharePoint for BD/Engineering, design partners or Site teams use
  • Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

    • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States
    • Anticipated percentage of time spent traveling: 20% to 40%
  • Batchelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • General knowledge of Solar PV, Energy Storage, and construction preferred
  • Experience working with owners and field staff desirable
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability in problem-solving
  • Strong sense of urgency

    $34.61 – $43.27
