Structured Finance & Development Manager
Leap29 is partnering with a dynamic, well-funded client seeking a highly skilled Structured Finance and Development Manager.
This pivotal role combines financial analysis, M&A expertise, project finance, and financial reporting with project development responsibilities, supporting the company’s ambitious growth in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage sophisticated financial models to assess M&A opportunities and greenfield wind energy projects. Perform in-depth financial analysis, including cash flow projections, valuations, and scenario planning.
- Provide FP&A support such as budgeting, variance analysis, and tracking performance across operating and development projects.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for senior management.
- Conduct market research and offer financial insights to aid in strategic planning, including capital allocation and investment decisions.
- Assist with identifying and evaluating acquisition targets in the renewable energy sector. Conduct due diligence (financial, operational, and market), and support negotiations, structuring of M&A deals, and coordination with legal, tax, and other advisors. Aid in securing debt and tax equity financing, including managing due diligence, modeling, and transaction closing processes.
- Work with the project development team to assess the financial feasibility of wind energy projects, providing feedback to optimize outcomes. Take on ad-hoc development tasks essential for advancing wind projects, especially around financing. Collaborate with technical teams to analyze and optimize technical performance and capital expenditure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement and strong quantitative skills.
- 4-10 years of experience in financial analysis, M&A, project finance, and FP&A, ideally within the renewable energy sector. Candidates with fewer than 4 years of experience will be considered based on academic and professional excellence.
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and analysis, with hands-on experience managing M&A transactions.
- Knowledge of the wind energy industry and project development is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
