Our Client:
Our client has a unique approach to help the world meet its decarbonization goals, and part of this involves building a truly unique aircraft.
This has to be one of the coolest projects out there.
Led by a serial cross-industry entrepreneur and MIT aerospace engineer, their team comprises of some of the best and brightest innovators from the aerospace and energy sectors. They have been selected both as a World Economic Forum Global Unicorn and as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in their competitive International Selection Panel process.
They are looking for a Senior Aerodynamics leader to lead and motivate employees in the aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing of the aircraft through the conceptual, preliminary, and detail design stages of development.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the technical and schedule execution of the aerodynamics work scope, and the technical quality of deliverables provided by the aerodynamics team.
- Drive aero database development from empirical, CFD, Wind Tunnel data and/or Flight Test data sources.
- Build models, clean CAD, and create computational meshes to perform appropriate-fidelity aerodynamic CFD simulations.
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity aerodynamic databases for use in airplane performance predictions, external loads calculations and real-time, 6 degree-of-freedom Simulations.
- Correlate and validate CFD results with higher or lower-fidelity simulations, cross-code comparisons, wind tunnel experiments, and flight tests data and assess aero database fidelity/uncertainty. Iterate on aerodynamic models as new data becomes available from these sources.
- Post-process data from aerodynamic simulations or experiments and summarize results in reports and presentations suitable for communication to internal and external customers, as needed.
